Olympic organizers mix up Korean flags at women's soccer match

GLASGOW -- London Olympic organizers mistakenly displayed the South Korean flag on a jumbo screen instead of North Korea's before a women's soccer match Wednesday, prompting the North Koreans to refuse to take the field for nearly an hour.

Football boots online is to provide you more convenient in order that you can have more and more time to do something what you want. The flag flap began during player introductions when a North Korean player was introduced along with a shot of the South Korean flag.

The match against Colombia was delayed for more than an hour, and organizers apologized for the error.

"Today ahead of the women's football match at Hampden Park, the South Korean flag was shown on a big screen video package instead of the North Korean flag. Football boots sale gives you more choice. Clearly that is a mistake," organizers said. "We will apologize to the team and the National Olympic Committee and steps will be taken to ensure this does not happen again."

The International Olympic Committee put the responsibility on London officials.

"It's a matter for the organizers," IOC spokesman Mark Adams said.

North Korea and South Korea are bitter rivals. The flag mix-up comes amid high tension on the Korean Peninsula following a North Korean long-range rocket launch in April and repeated threats by Pyongyang to attack the South. Cheap football boots are popular with young people. Seoul and the U.S. have called the launch a cover for a test of banned long-range missile technology. North Korea says the rocket, which broke apart shortly after liftoff, was meant to put a satellite into orbit.

Wednesday's match started 1 hour, 5 minutes late. Fans were confused at first, then turned to doing the wave and finally started booing as they became increasingly restless.

New football boots have caught your eyes at any time. An announcement was eventually made over the public address system about 20 minutes after the scheduled 7:45 p.m. (1845 GMT; 2:45 p.m. EDT) kick off, apologizing for the delay and saying it "was due to an issue behind the scenes. We're trying to resolve it and we'll keep you updated."

To pass more time, music was pumped from the speakers. Players from both teams finally emerged onto the field about 40 minutes after the match was supposed to begin. The players warmed up again for 10 minutes before they returned inside the tunnel to be led out again for the national anthems.

Flag controversies aren't new at the Olympics. At the 1992 Barcelona Games, Michael Jordan, Magic Johnson and Charles Barkley from the Dream Team draped U.S. flags over their shoulders to hide a rival sponsor's logo on their jackets when they received their gold medals.

At the 2010 Vancouver Games, the Australians displayed a flag with a boxing kangaroo -- the mascot for the country's team -- in the athletes village, despite an International Olympic Committee rule that usually only permits official national flags to be displayed. In 2000, sprinter Cathy Freeman caused a stir when she took a victory lap after winning the 400-meter final at the Sydney Games draped in the Aboriginal flag, which was not recognized as an official national flag by the IOC.

Also in 2000, North and South Korean athletes marched together at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Olympics under the unified Korea flag, sparking a standing ovation. But with relations deteriorating in the years since, each country insists on a separate flag.

Last month, there was another mix-up in Britain. British field hockey officials apologized to the South African women's team for playing the apartheid-era national anthem before one of its matches at the London Cup, a warm-up event for the Olympics.

The event's organizer, Great Britain Hockey, said it was an administrative mistake and offered a "full and unreserved apology."

Yankees acquire Ichiro Suzuki

The New York Yankees have acquired 10-time All-Star outfielder Ichiro Suzuki from the Seattle Mariners for a pair of pitching prospects.

Football boots online is to provide you more convenient in order that you can have more and more time to do something what you want. The teams announced the trade Monday hours before their three-game series opener in Seattle. Ichiro, who had spent his entire major league career with the Mariners, will make his Yankees debut in the contest at Safeco Field.

Following a brief discussion with the Japanese star, Yankees manager Joe Girardi finalized New York's starting lineup with Ichiro batting eighth and playing right field. Football boots sale gives you more choice.

Ichiro, 38, is in the final year of a five-year, $90 million contract. During a news conference to announce the deal, Ichiro acknowledged that he requested to be traded, stating that it was in his best interest to not return to the rebuilding Mariners in 2013.

"When I spent time during the All-Star break to think, I realized that this team has many players in their early 20s," Ichiro said through a translator. "I began to think I should not be on this team next year. I also started to feel a desire to be in an atmosphere that I could have a different kind of stimulation than I have right now."

Cheap football boots are popular with young people. The last-place Mariners granted Ichiro's request in sending him to the first-place Yankees, who enter Monday's game with the best record in the majors at 57-38.

"I'm going from a team having the most losses to a team with the most wins, so it's been hard to maintain my excitement," he said.

The Yankees also received cash considerations from the Mariners, who acquired reliever D.J. Mitchell and minor league right-hander Danny Farquhar.

Ichiro figures to provide a significant boost to the Yankees, who were swept by the Oakland Athletics in a four-game series this past weekend and have been searching for outfield depth since likely losing left fielder Brett Gardner to a season-ending elbow injury.

Nike Total 90 Laser IV has a magic that makes us fascinated. Although Ichiro has played the majority of his career in right field, Girardi said the Yankees' primary plan is to use the veteran as a replacement to Gardner in left field. Ichiro will fill in Monday for right fielder Nick Swisher, who has been sidelined with a hip injury.

"We're very excited to have him," Girardi said. "We feel that he brings a speed element, a tremendous hitter. That speed element is something that we lost when (Gardner) had surgery. So this is a big day for us."

New York outfielder Raul Ibanez, a former Mariners teammate of Ichiro, said the trade came as a complete surprise to the Yankees clubhouse.

"Nobody in here really knew anything about it," said Ibanez, who served as the Yankees' primary left fielder during Gardner's absence. "I just learned about it when I got here. I think it's a great addition." New football boots have caught your eyes at any time.

The deal marks the end of Ichiro's historic tenure with the Mariners. Major League Baseball's first Japanese-born position player, Ichiro is the Mariners' all-time leader in batting average and hits. He was named the American League's MVP and Rookie of the Year in 2001, when he helped lead Seattle to the best regular season in history.

Bob Bradley's Egypt misses out on 2013 Africa Cup of Nations

Nike Tiempo Legend IV has a unique design that people are comfortable to wear them. Following a shock 3-2 win in Egypt, minnow Central African Republic scored first in Bangui through Foxi Kethevoama's 23rd-minute header and held on for a 1-1 draw in the second leg to move one tie away from reaching a major tournament for the first time.
Emad Meteb equalized in the 72nd from close range for the Egyptians, and chances were squandered.
Fans poured onto the pitch at the final whistle to celebrate the Central Africans' progression to the final round of qualifying for next year's 16-team tournament in South Africa.
Elimination was a bitter blow to former U.S. coach Bob Bradley, who was hired after Egypt surprisingly failed to make this year's finals following three successive titles from 2006-10. Football boots online is to provide you more convenient in order that you can have more and more time to do something what you want. Before Saturday's setback, Bradley had made good progress following the team's struggles last year amid the violent uprising that removed Hosni Mubarak from power.
Cheap soccer shoes have a big sales volume in promotion. The Egyptians created a host of goalscoring opportunities on an uneven pitch against the Central Africans but crucially couldn't capitalize.
"I think our ideas in attack were good," Bradley said. "Obviously the execution of certain opportunities … wasn't everything it needed to be. We only scored one goal when we needed to score three."
The home team was more dangerous early on and Kethevoama's downward header trickled past goalkeeper Essam El-Hadry for the lead. New football boots have caught your eyes at any time.
Meteb hit a 40th-minute volley straight at Central African Republic's 'keeper and Mohamed Aboutrika's header in the 53rd bounced over the bar. Aboutrika was then denied by the home goalie in the 67th as Egypt's frustration grew.
Meteb was on target with a little under 20 minutes to go and Egypt poured forward but couldn't break through again.
Central African Republic is the last team to progress to a final round of qualifying in September and October, when 30 teams will play for 15 places at next year's African Cup alongside the host.
